Prisoner numbers and prisoner triangles are common motifs among the miniatures. The fact that prisoners self-identified with these numbers and symbols assigned to them by the SS when they arrived at the camp indicates that they used these degrading and dehumanizing categories in an affirmative way. Since the red triangle was assigned to political prisoners, and no comparable objects exist from any other prisoner group, these objects may also reflect a certain pride in the designation.
