Opening times and travel information

The outdoor grounds are open from 9:00 until 20:00.

The exhibition “The Ravensbrück Womens’s Concentration Camp – History and Memory” is open from 10:00 to 16:30 besides Monday.

The visitor center with bookstore is open from 10:00-12:30 and from 13:00-16:00 besides Monday.

General social distancing and hygiene rules apply, as well as the requirement to wear a medical mask in rooms (conference rooms, the exhibitions, the visitor center and archives etc.)

Travel information

By train: Regional train (RE) 5 from Berlin to Stralsund/Rostock stops at Fürstenberg and runs every hour. The Memorial is a 25-minute walk from Fürstenberg station, where taxis are also available. Additionally, a bus connection from Fürstenberg train station to Himmelpforter Weg is available. From Fürstenberger Weg, it is a 10-minute walk to the Memorial. The Memorial's staff at the visitor's center can give you further advice on the bus connection or call a taxi for you.


By car: Fürstenberg is located 80 kilometres north of Berlin on Bundesstraße (Federal Highway) 96, which runs from Berlin to Stralsund; the way to the Memorial from Fürstenberg is signposted.
