The Memorial began establishing its media collection in 1996. It comprises audio and video recordings that are relevant to the research and public outreach work of the Ravensbrück Memorial, some of which were created as early as the 1960s. Audio and video interviews with eyewitnesses and documentation of the history of the Ravensbrück concentration camp complex form a valuable part of the collection. These media are held on more than 3,300 data storage devices.
The Ravensbrück Memorial worked with the director Loretta Walz on a number of projects. Starting in 1980, she interviewed women and men in Eastern and Western Europe who had been imprisoned in the Moringen, Lichtenburg and Ravensbrück concentration camps for various reasons. Interviews from this extensive collection can be viewed upon request in the video archive 'The Women of Ravensbrück'.

Fees based on the schedule of fees of the Brandenburg Memorials Foundation are charged for more extensive written information as well as for research and the retrieval of archival documents and literature, unless the user has been exempted from the payment of fees.
The use of the media collection is governed by the Brandenburg Archive Act, the relevant data protection regulations, and contractual restrictions where applicable.
