Only one of the miniatures in the collection is a swan. The swan can symbolize innocence, love and beauty. In fairy tales and Celtic mythology, people are often transformed into swans. In Germanic legend, there are swan maidens who can fly through the air in garments made of swan feathers. In this respect, the swan might also embody the desire to fly away from the camp and escape.
