Stolen Memories. Guided Tour of the Memorial Site and the #StolenMemory Exhibition

19. July 2026 – 11:15 - 13:15 Uhr

A ring, a wristwatch, photos with handwritten dedications – upon arrival at the Ravensbrück women's concentration camp, the SS took everything from the prisoners that they carried with them. What happened to these belongings, and how they are finding their way back to the families of the persecuted today, is the subject of the #StolenMemory traveling exhibition of the Arolsen Archives, on view on the forecourt of the former SS headquarters at the Ravensbrück Memorial Museum until 5 August.

The guided tour on Sunday, 19 July, provides an overview of the history of the former women's concentration camp and follows the themes of the exhibition: the arrival of the prisoners, the theft of their personal belongings, and the paths by which individual keepsakes are returning to families after more than 80 years – such as the ring of Halina Kucharczyk, which her granddaughters received here at the Memorial last summer.

Participation is free of charge, and no registration is required. The meeting point is the Visitor Information Center.

Please note: unfortunately, the tour is only partially accessible and will be held in German.

Getting here from Fürstenberg station by on-demand bus: The MOHVER (OVG) stops directly at the Memorial's parking lot. Please book your ride at least 90 minutes before departure, online via the OVG booking app or by phone at +49 3306 2307. Standard VBB fares apply.
