Program Overview May 1 - 4, 2025

The Ravensbrück Memorial Museum and the International Ravensbrück Committee will hold a comprehensive program from May 1 to May 4, 2025, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Ravensbrück women’s concentration camp. We cordially invite you to join us in honoring the memory of those imprisoned in Ravensbrück and reflecting on the enduring significance of the crimes committed at this site for the present and future.

Thursday, May 1

• From 11 AM - Renewal of the Path Markings

Friday, May 2

• 10 AM - 5 PM - International Forum of the 2nd and 3rd Generation - (EN/DE/FR/PL)
  A closed event for relatives of former prisoners of the Ravensbrück concentration camp.

• From 10 AM - 24-Hour Reading of the Names of Ravensbrück Victims - (DE)
  A participatory event. For registration and more information, please contact the initiators of the 24h-Namenlesen group.

• 3 PM - Commemorative Event at the Site of the Former Grüneberg Subcamp (PL/DE)
  An event organized by the Grüneberg parish and the independent Grüneberg initiative in cooperation with the Lagergemeinschaft Ravensbrück/Freundeskreis e. V. and the Klub Byłych Więźniarek KL Ravensbrück.

• 7 PM - Conversation with a Holocaust Survivor at the Ravensbrück Memorial - (EN/DE)

• 10 AM - Commemoration at the Soviet Memorial - (DE) 
  Organized by the Lagergemeinschaft Ravensbrück/Freundeskreis e. V.
  Location: Soviet Memorial, Bahnhofstraße / Parkstraße, Fürstenberg/Havel
   
• 11:30 AM - Workshop Talk: The Men’s Camp within the Ravensbrück Women’s Concentrtion Camp - (EN/DE/FR/PL)
  The project is funded by the Fondation Tour du Monde.
  Meeting point: Event hall, Ravensbrück Memorial Museum
   
• 12 PM - 4 PM - Market of Remembrance and Encounter - (EN/DE/FR/PL)
  Location: Historic Garage Yard, Ravensbrück Memorial Museum
   
• 2 PM - Commemoration at the “Jugend-KZ Uckermark” and Subsequent Site of Extermination - (EN/DE/PL)
  An event organized by the Initiative für einen Gedenkort ehemaliges KZ Uckermark e. V. 
  A shuttle service is available. Meeting point: Visitor information center, Ravensbrück Memorial Museum
  Location: „Jugend-KZ Uckermark“ Memorial Site
   
• 3 PM - Opening of the Exhibition "Women's Resistance in the Ravensbrück Concentration Camp" - (EN/DE/FR/PL)
  In cooperation with the German Resistance Memorial Center. The project is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media.

• 5 PM - Inauguration of a Memorial Sign for Political Prisoners - (EN/DE/FR/PL)
  Initiated by the Lagergemeinschaft Ravensbrück/Freundeskreis e. V.
  Location: New Memorial Site, Ravensbrück Memorial Museum
   
• 6 PM - Concert "Fragments of Memory" - (EN/DE/FR/PL)
  Organized in collaboration with the Polish associations Stowarzyszenie Prawy Brzeg and Rodzina Więźniarek Niemieckiego Obozu Koncentracyjnego Ravensbrück, as well as the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej (Institute of National Remembrance, IPN).

• 12:30 PM - Catholic Memorial Service in Polish and Inauguration of a Memorial - (PL/DE)
  Initiated by the association Rodzina Więźniarek Niemieckiego Obozu Koncentracyjnego Ravensbrück in Krakow.

  An event by the initiative “Autonome feministische Frauen und Lesben aus Deutschland und Österreich”.

• 2 PM - Choir Concert in Memory of Greek Prisoners - (EN/DE)
  A concert by the German-Greek choir POLYPHONIA Berlin.

• 3 PM - Interreligious Commemoration “Courage to Call for Peace” - (EN/DE/FR/PL)
  An event by the Zukunftswerkstatt Interreligiöses Gedenken Ravensbrück
