Ravensbrück Memorial Museum
The "Siemens at Ravensbrück" project week has started
29. September 2022
This year's "Siemens in Ravensbrück" project has been taking place at the Ravensbrück memorial since yesterday. The Siemens trainees are dealing with the history of their company in the Ravensbrück women's concentration camp (www.projekt-ravensbrueck.com ). Over the past few years, they have developed concepts and ideas for a 3D model of the site, a site plan and a wayfinding system. This week the elements will be installed on the site. In the future, they will help visitors find their way around the former Siemens site. The project has been taking place at the Ravensbrück memorial since 2010.
Between 1942 and 1945, Siemens & Halske AG operated a production facility in the immediate vicinity of the Ravensbrück women's concentration camp, where up to 2,300 prisoners were forced to work at the same time. Among other things, the women produced coils, toggle switches, microphones, telephones and measuring instruments for the German war industry there.
