Renovation of the Cell Building: Closure from October 2025

The former cell building of Ravensbrück Concentration Camp will only be partially accessible from 22 October 2025 onwards. This is due to urgently needed renovation work on the upper floor, after renovation of the basement has been completed. The roof will be renewed and cracks in the walls and ceilings will be repaired.
From 22 October, the national memorial rooms on the upper floor will be closed to the public. The exhibition ‘Ravensbrück. The Cell Building in the side wing of the building and the basement will remain open for the time being.
The entire building will be closed from 24 November. The reopening of the building with all exhibitions is planned for 2028. We will provide information on our website about a partial opening of the building during the renovation work.
