On 3 May 2026, the Ravensbrück Memorial Museum invites you to the central commemoration ceremony marking the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Ravensbrück women’s concentration camp. The event will focus on commemorating the more than 140,000 women, men, and children from over 40 countries who were imprisoned in Ravensbrück and its subcamps, as well as the many thousands who were murdered here. The ceremony, featuring speeches and musical contributions, will be held together with survivors and their families and will bring together representatives from politics, diplomacy, and civil society, as well as numerous visitors.
Following the ceremony, a wreath-laying will take place on the shore of Lake Schwedt.
