Ravensbrück Memorial Museum
Participatory Reading on the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust
27. January 2026 – all day
On the occasion of the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, the Ravensbrück Memorial Museum invites you to the annual Participatory Reading on 27 January 2026. This year’s focus will be on the men's camp within the Ravensbrück camp complex.
Between 1941 and 1945, more than 20,000 men were imprisoned in the Ravensbrück men’s camp and its satellite camps. The reading draws on findings from the current research project of the Ravensbrück Memorial Museum, which has been working since 2023 to further explore the history of the men’s camp and make it more visible within the overall narrative of Ravensbrück.
The script is based on a collage of memoirs, personal testimonies, and archival materials. Former prisoners speak for themselves: in letters, diary entries, postwar trial statements, and other personal documents.
All attendees are invited to actively participate by reading a passage from the script.
Further information on participation and timing will follow.
