Ravensbrück Memorial Museum
Opening of the Exhibition “Women’s Resistance in Ravensbrück”
03. May 2025 – 15:00 Uhr
Concentration Camp inmates putting up resistance were punished and risked their lives. And yet, women found the courage to resist. They resisted orders by the SS, sabotaged arms production, helped fellow inmates or smuggled documents out of the camp to attest to the crimes of the SS. A special exhibition on the former Camp Grounds is dedicated to them. The open-air exhibition on the former Camp Grounds presents 20 biographies on historic sites, highlighting self-assertion, courage, and solidarity in seemingly hopeless situations.
After the opening, curators Dr Andrea Genest and Jeanette Toussaint will give a guided tour.
The event will be simultaneously translated into German, English, French and Polish.
In cooperation with the German Resistance Memorial (Gedenkstätte Deutscher Widerstand).
The project is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
