Ravensbrück Memorial Museum
Public Guided Tour for International Museum Day 2025
18. May 2025 – 14:00 - 15:30 Uhr
On 18 May 2025, museums and memorial sites will open their doors to highlight their role as places of education, remembrance, and research.
On this occasion, the Ravensbrück Memorial Museum invites you to join a public guided tour on the topic:
Unknown Places. Ravensbrück – (Building) History of the Animal Stables and the Camp Garden at the Ravensbrück Concentration Camp
Along the shore of Lake Schwedtsee and the western perimeter wall of the former Ravensbrück concentration camp, several animal stables and gardening areas were located. These are among many sites and buildings in the vicinity of today’s memorial that once formed part of the camp complex but are now largely unknown or inaccessible.
The tour offers an introduction to the significance of these structures for the prisoners, their planning and use by the SS, as well as their later repurposing.
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
Participation is free of charge. No registration required.
We look forward to welcoming you!
Please note that the public guided tour will be held in German only.
