Ravensbrück Memorial Museum
Memorial Service in Honor of Sister Élise Rivet (Mère Marie Élisabeth de l'Eucharistie)
30. March 2025 – 15:00 - 16:30 Uhr
On March 30, 2025, the 80th anniversary of the death of French nun Élise Rivet (Mère Marie Élisabeth de l'Eucharistie) will be commemorated. As the prioress of the Notre Dame de Compassion convent in Lyon, she supported the French Résistance, helped persecuted individuals find refuge, and facilitated the production of forged documents. In March 1944, she was denounced, arrested by the Gestapo, and deported via Fort Montluc prison and Neue Bremm camp to Ravensbrück concentration camp. Just weeks before the camp’s liberation, on Good Friday, March 30, 1945, she sacrificed herself for a mother and was murdered in the gas chamber in her place.
In her memory, the St. Lukas Neubrandenburg parish invites you to a memorial service on March 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the former cell block of the Ravensbrück Memorial Museum. Prior to the service, a guided tour of the historical camp grounds will take place from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM, starting at the visitor center of the memorial.
Following the service, the St. Lukas Neubrandenburg parish invites participants to a gathering in the memorial’s event hall.
We look forward to your participation!
Please note that the event will be held in German.
