Ravensbrück Memorial Museum
24-Hour Reading of the Names of Ravensbrück Victims
03. May - 04. May 2025 – 10:00 - 10:00 Uhr
A name is an expression of an individual’s identity. It keeps the memory of a person alive and shows their links with family, community and tradition. The Nazis tried to erase individuality in the concentration camp system by replacing the names of the inmates with numbers and detainee categories.
From Saturday morning to Sunday morning, the names of the victims of the Ravensbrück Concentration Camp will be read out loud over 24 hours on the site next to the former camp gate. Spontaneous participation is welcomed.
The event is held in German.
