Further Information

Free Admission

Visitors may lend our audio guide in several languages for a small fee. If you wish to book our educational programms, like guided tours and workshops, we strongly advise to book well in in advance.

Film

While the Memorial is open, you may watch the film "Remembering Ravensbrück" lasting around 30 minutes in German, English and French. The film is shown in the former garage complex once an hour and is based on interviews with former inmates of Ravensbrück concentration camp.

Due to energy saving measures the film is currently not shown. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Children

The content displayed in the Memorial and its exhibitions is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. We therefore recommend that they should only visit the Memorial accompanied by their parents. The educational programmes we offer are aimed at schoolchildren aged 14 and above.

Clothing

Please bear in mind that the Memorial is a large, open space that is exposed to the weather. So we recommend that, depending on the weather, you wear suitably warm clothing and firm shoes as well as protection from the sun and the rain.

Bicycles

Bicycles are not permitted on the site. There are bike stands in the entrance area next to the visitors’ service centre, where you can lock up your bicycle for the duration of your visit.

Bag storage

Lockers are available in the visitors service centre for storing medium-sized bags during your visit. Larger items of baggage cannot be stored.

Animals

Animals are not allowed on the memorial grounds.  Exempt from this house rule are  assistance dogs with appropriate identification.
