Youth encounters

A variety of youth encounters take place at the International Youth Meeting Centre | Ravensbrück Youth Hostel.

The Memorial cooperates with initiatives such as Service Civil International (SCI) and the Association of Young Volunteers (VJF) to organise international work camps that are held every summer. These camps bring together adolescents and young adults from all over the world, who usually spend two weeks exploring the history of the camp complex, translating foreign-language texts, or carrying out maintenance work in the grounds of the Memorial.

Since 2005, the Memorial has worked with the Dr Hildegard Hansche Foundation to organise the Ravensbrück Generations Forum, during which young people spend four days in the summer talking with survivors of Ravensbrück.

The Ravensbrück Memorial is an ideal setting for German-Polish youth encounters in the context of the Paths to Remembrance programme of the German-Polish Youth Association (DPJW). The Memorial is also a partner to Tandem | Coordination Centre for German-Czech Youth Exchange.

The Ravensbrück Memorial is always open to new ideas and partnerships.
